The Fray once said, "I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life."
Well, today we do.
A little over a month ago, an old high school friend of mine, Matt Ziemian, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and now needs a bone marrow transplant in order to continue his treatment. But first, he needs a match - could you be it?
You could save a life by helping to fight Leukemia and other serious forms of cancer by registering with the National Registry of Bone Marrow Donors. If you haven't yet, please register with them! It's very easy. You go in, they swab the inside of your mouth/cheek, test it, and you're done. If you're a match for someone, you'll get a phone call, and be brought to a facility for a transplant. To answer, yes, I've heard (not experienced) that the actual transplant is painful - but would you rather help someone and endure some pain, or watch them die and know you could have saved them?
I venture out today to Palmer, MA, not just to return to my old hometown, but to see if I can help save a life.
If you would like to specifically donate to Matt's cause, you may follow the link below:
